New York Approves Medical Marijuana

But no smoking allowed.

New York governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law legalization for medical marijuana on Monday, making New York the 23rd state to do so. The Compassionate Care Act allows patients suffering from various illnesses to ingest marijuana as a pain reliever. Smoking the plant is not allowed. The law has a strict security measure requiring a certificate from a registered Department of Health practitioner.
