Rupert Murdoch’s troubles aren’t limited to Britain: News Corp.’s Australian branch, News Ltd., is under investigation after a senator claimed the company tried to bribe him. Bill O’Chee told police that News Ltd. offered him favorable newspaper coverage and a “special relationship” in exchange for voting against legislation creating digital TV in 1998. O’Chee eventually voted against the legislation and lost his seat shortly thereafter. He says after declining News Ltd.'s offer, he was unable to get coverage in the company's papers.
