Newsweek Book Club’s July Winner!

We asked you to vote for the book to read in July, from a shortlist of five titles. Find out who has won our first Newsweek & The Daily Beast Book Club on Tumblr, and let the reading begin.

Our winner is...
Gold by Chris Cleave!
For more, visit our Book Club on Tumblr, where we will post updates and discussion items starting Tuesday, July 3, which is when the book comes out.
Let’s give ourselves a week and a half to read until the end of page 88. Then we will host a live chat at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 13, and introduce each other to the characters of Zoe, Jack, and Kate—three friends who are all world-class cyclists competing for their last chance at an Olympic medal.
Thank you to all of you who supported the four other titles on the shortlist: Capital by John Lanchester, The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker, Seating Arrangements by Maggie Shipstead, and The Red House by Mark Haddon.
