Newsweek’s Top 25 High Schools: Northeast

Though it’s the least-populated of the four American regions we surveyed, the Northeast produced a full 25% of our top schools nationwide. The region is bolstered by New York schools, which comprised nearly 10% of our full ranking.

The best schools in the Northeast were ranked using the same metrics as our overall list, with primary weighting given to graduation rate, the percent of graduates accepted to college, and the number of AP and IB tests given per student. As well, average SAT, ACT and AP scores, and the number of students enrolled in an AP or IB program was considered.
