As more details unravel around how the NFL has handled Ray Rice’s domestic abuse scandal over the past seven months, it is apparent just how tangled the web of facts and misguided information is. In an in-depth look at the chain of events sparked by the Feb. 15 altercation in the elevator of an Atlantic City Casino, ESPN interviewed over 20 sources close to the case revealing “a pattern of misinformation and misdirection employed by the Ravens and the NFL.” Sources reveal that Ravens’ coach John Harbaugh urged management to cut Rice from the team shortly after seeing the outside-elevator footage in February and again in March, but was denied both times. Multiple sources also claim that the organization made no effort to see the inside-elevator footage or investigate into the matter further, even after warned of its graphic nature.
