New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul reportedly had his right index finger amputated Wednesday after a fireworks accident over the holiday weekend. ESPN broke the story of Pierre-Paul’s Fourth of July mishap, but neither the team or Pierre-Paul have yet to comment. Pierre-Paul is technically not under contract as he had yet to sign his $14.8 million one-year franchise tender with the Giants. A second NFL star lost two fingers over the weekend while setting off fireworks. Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback C.J. Wilson lost two fingers when fireworks did not pop out of the canister when they exploded, Wilson’s father confirmed on a North Carolina television station.
