Nick Cannon defended Kevin Hart from fallout over his past homophobic comments, which led to him stepping down from hosting the Oscars, by flagging three comediennes’ past tweets, People reports. The “Wild ‘n Out” host unearthed purportedly homophobic tweets from Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman and Chelsea Handler, tweeting Friday, “Interesting...I wonder if there was any backlash here…” Cannon’s initial “backlash” tweet appeared to reference a 2010 post from Handler that said “This is what a f— bird likes like when he flexes.” He also cited a 2012 tweet from Schumer which read “Enjoy skyfall f—. I’m bout to get knee deep in Helen Hunt #thesessions.” “I’m just saying… should we keep going???” said Cannon, 38. He also referred to a 2010 tweet posted by Silverman that stated “I dont mean this in a hateful way but the new bachelorette’s a f—.” Silverman has previously told reporters that she is very uneasy about some of her material from 10 years ago. After the announcement that Hart would serve as the Oscars host, homophobic tweets came to light, such as calling someone’s photo a “gay billboard for AIDS.”
