The father of O.J. Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson has died at his Southern California home, a family attorney said Saturday. Louis Brown Jr., 90, died in the seaside community of Dana Point, though a statement issued on behalf of the family did not indicate a cause of death. Brown’s daughter, Nicole, was slashed to death in 1994 along with her friend Ronald Goldman. Her ex-husband, football great O.J. Simpson, was acquitted of murder in the murder trial, but found liable for the deaths in 1997 by a civil trial. Louis Brown stood and smiled after the verdict of the civil trial was read. “I want to get outside and scream,” he told the Associated Press at the time. Brown and his daughter Denise started a foundation in Nicole’s memory to raise awareness of domestic violence and increase funding for assistance. Brown was a World War II veteran (he served as a pilot) and married shortly after the war in Switzerland. His wife Judi and their children were with him when he died.
