Nigeria Bus Station Blast Kills Dozens

Bomb Attack

Boko Haram suspected.

A bomb exploded at a bus station in northeastern Nigeria, killing what was estimated to be 25 to 40 people, according to witnesses and security personnel. At least five soldiers were among the victims of Thursday’s attack in a village just outside Mubi, the second largest city in Adamawa state, close to the border with Cameroon. No group claimed responsibility for the attack, but the area repeatedly has been targeted by the rebel group Boko Haram. In early November, Boko Haram seized the town, which has a population of more than 200,000, and renamed it “Madinat-ul Islam,” or the city of Islam. The government recaptured the town this week.
