Villagers in Nigeria are taking security into their own hands. According to witnesses, three villages near Boko Haram territory repelled an attack by the rebels on Tuesday, killing an estimated 200 militants. The inhabitants formed a vigilante group for protection and were ready to fight after hearing of an upcoming Boko Haram attack. Meanwhile, in the capital of the embattled province of Borno, soldiers attacked a top military commander's envoy as protest against lack of wages and supplies. No one was hurt.
