The Kentucky Derby kicks off at 6:24 p.m. on Saturday. Where to place your money? Several of the top contenders have dropped out, including last year’s champion Uncle Mo. The Wall Street Journal looks at the strikes against each of the remaining horses and decides that Mucho Macho Man is the strongest contender: He has only once finished outside of the top three in his eight races. If you’re looking for an underdog, the Journal says go with Soldat, who starts the day at 12-1.
