Did you, by any chance, see a burning hunk of metal coming at you above your head last night? Scientists said they have found no trace of pieces of a defunct German research satellite, and they're not sure where it landed, though they've confirmed that it reentered the atmosphere overnight Sunday. Most parts of the satellite, which was the size of a minivan, were expected to burn up, but up to 30 fragments weighing nearly two tons could have crashed. Scientists said it could take days to determine where the pieces fell.
