The skull of F.W. Murnau, the famed silent film director of Nosferatu', the 1920s Dracula masterpiece, was stolen from his grave in Germany. Authorities report that the skull was likely stolen from the Stahnsdorf cemetery outside Berlin sometime after July 4. Authorites do not know if Murnau was specifically targeted. Wax residue near the grave suggests a possible occult connection. Murnau died in 1931 in California at age 42 following a car crash.
