Samir Kantar, the longest-held prisoner in Israel, was killed in an airstrike near the Syrian capital on Saturday night. Kantar was a Lebanese man convicted of murder in one of the most notorious attacks in Israel's history. He was killed in Damascus along with eight others. Kantar's brother confirmed his death on Facebook.
