Notre Dame Wins NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament

Notre Dame beat Mississippi State to win the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship 61-58, with an incredible three-pointer shot made in the game’s final tenth of a second. Arike Ogunbowale shot from the corner and took the Fighting Irish to its first title in 17 years. Ogunbowale also shot a buzzer-beater in Notre Dame’s semifinal game against UConn, beating the previously undefeated team. Ogunbowale was subsequently awarded the tournament’s outstanding player honor.
