New York City police are calling the attack in which a man attacked four officers with a hatchet an act of terrorism. 32-year-old Zale Thompson attacked the group of officers on Thursday after they stopped to take a picture. Though a clear motive has yet to be established in the case, Police Commissioner William Bratton deemed the act on Friday a "terrorist attack.” Thompson converted to Islam two years ago and became “self-radicalized” after being inspired by terrorist groups like ISIS.
