Early Sunday morning, an NYPD officer shot and killed a 14-year-old boy who was allegedly firing at another person in the Bronx. The two officers on the scene were new to the force, having joined in January, and had ordered the suspect to drop his weapon, but he didn't comply, according to a police department press release. An investigation has been launched. The area is a high-crime zone and patrolled by extra police officers in an attempt to reduce the violence.
