Aides highlighted small donations, reporting that 1.8 million people had given, and that 500,000 of them had not contributed before. Meanwhile, Mitt Romney and the Republicans, who have been giving Obama a run for his money in the fundraising game but fell behind in the August totals, have yet to release their figures for September.
