The IRS political-targeting scandal has claimed its first casualty, as the administration has forced the resignation of the organization's acting head. In an effort to clean up the IRS—and to save face amidst roiling controversy—the president also promised 'new safeguards to make sure this kind of behavior cannot happen again.'
