President Obama may need a new basketball buddy. Obama’s longtime personal assistant, Reggie Love, will leave the White House by the end of the year, sources tell The Washington Post. Love started as a staff assistant in Obama’s Senate office and was a constant presence on the campaign trail and in the White House. A onetime forward for the Duke Blue Devils, he played basketball with Obama on the day of every primary or caucus in 2008. Obama, who called Love his “little brother,” said in an interview last year that he has "an iReggie, who has my books, my newspapers, my music, all in one place.” Love is the latest of several longtime Obama aides to leave the White House this year, including senior adviser David Axelrod and press secretary Robert Gibbs. It’s not known what Love will do next.
