It didn't take long for the Obama campaign to pounce on Richard Grenell's resignation from the Romney campaign. Despite the fact that Mitt's campaign manager issued a statement insisting, "We wanted him to stay because ha had superior qualifications for the position he was hired to fill," Grinell's own statement suggests that opposition toward him based on his homosexuality is what drove him out. Obama's digital director tweeted, "Today we learned that in the year 2012, a Republican nominee for President can't have a gay person as spokesman," and the cofounder of his super PAC wrote, "This is the kind of bigoted, anti-gay extremists a Romney administration would find itself held hostage to."
