President Obama has ordered that the flag at the White House be flown at half-staff to honor former Israeli prime minister and president Shimon Peres, who passed away yesterday from complications after a stroke. Obama will also travel to Israel for Peres' funeral alongside former president Bill Clinton. The order encompasses embassies, military facilities and naval vessels as well and lasts through sunset on Friday.
