Obama: GOP Is Stealing Election

Says they’re tied to special interests at rally.

With midterm elections less than a month away, President Obama and his team are dialing up their rhetoric against Republicans. At a rally in Philadelphia, Obama painted the GOP as beholden to anonymous donations from special interests and big corporations. “Now that’s not just a threat to the Democrats; it’s a threat to democracy,” he said. The fiery new tone matches a campaign of ads that the Democratic National Committee has recently released, portraying the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Karl Rove, and “Bush cronies” as “stealing our democracy.” Rove has already hit back, writing in an email to Politico about Obama, “Even the truth doesn’t restrain him when it comes to assaulting his enemies list.”
