But will he pick up the tab? President Obama, in a gesture of outreach to his newly empowered Republican colleagues, will meet for lunch with the House’s GOP leadership in Washington tomorrow. Obama is scheduled to dine with Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, the first time he has done so since the party took control of the House in January. The group plans to discuss the economy, spending, and the president’s upcoming budget proposal. Obama also had a private lunch with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Friday.
