More tough words from President Obama: He said on Tuesday that he would fire BP CEO Tony Hayward, if it were his decision. "He wouldn't be working for me after making any of those statements,” Obama said when asked about Hayward’s gaffes, like calling the impact of the spill “very, very modest,” or complaining that he wanted his life back. Obama said that he has not spoken with Hayward personally since the oil-rig explosion on April 20, though the head of the government effort, Admiral Thad Allen, says he speaks with Hayward frequently.
