President Obama's approval rating might be in the tank, but he's doing surprisingly well with small donors—better than his rivals, and better than his 2008 record. The Washington Post found nearly a quarter of the money he's received has come from donors giving less than $200, a far higher percentage than in 2008. However, Obama is having more trouble with larger donors. Fewer than 6,000 supporters have given him $2,500 or more through September, compared with more than 8,000 for Mitt Romney.
