President Obama has nominated Matthew Olsen to be the new head of the National Counterterrorism Center. Olsen is currently the general counsel for the National Security Agency, but he has also worked with the Justice Department and the FBI. Obama said, “Matt will be a critical part of my national security team as we work to tirelessly thwart attacks against our nation.” Olsen would replace Michael Leiter, who oversaw the killing of Osama bin Laden. Olsen still needs to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
