President Obama marked Labor Day by announcing an executive order that will extend the right to receive sick pay to hundreds of thousands of American workers employed by federal contractors. The new labor regulations, detailed in a Monday speech in Boston, would grant the right to sick pay to about 300,000 low-paid workers. Employees on federal contracts would be entitled to up to seven days paid sick leave per year.
