Looks like somebody is hoping to skip ahead to the warm weather. President Obama said Wednesday that he expects his sweeping immigration overhaul to be passed by Congress “within six months.” While bashing Congress’s glacially slow pace seems to have become one of Obama’s favorite pastimes these days, the president admitted to a Spanish-language channel that he is not a “king” and he understands that these bills take time to pass through Congress. But Obama did threaten to use executive action on immigration reform if necessary, saying, “I’ve got a bill drafted. We’ve got language.” Obama said he is willing to talk to “anybody any time” from Congress, but indicated he would not make the first move.
