Obama Raised $1 Million in 45 Minutes

Friday fundraising on the fly.

Barack Obama dipped out of the White House for a little more than an hour today and came back with $1 million. The president held a reception at the nearby Jefferson Hotel, at which about 20 supporters paid $45,000 for face time with him. Of that money, $5,000 will go to Obama's reelection campaign, $30,800 of it to the Democratic National Committee, and $9,200 to the Swing State Fund—a special group dedicated specifically to campaigning in vulnerable states.
