"Pull things together" was the message that President Obama had for his staff one recent morning, according to a senior staffperson who told the Los Angeles Times that Obama is standing by his White House staff despite a plummeting approval rating. There has been speculation that Obama would shake up his guard to signal a new direction, most notably from Democratic strategist James Carville, who told Obama to fire them all in a CNN op-ed. But the president reportedly told his team to "focus on what's important" and tune out the rumors.
