President Obama officially took the oath of office in the Blue Room of the White House a few minutes before noon on Sunday. Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath. Obama was sworn in using a Bible from his wife's family. After hugging various family members, he told his daughter Sasha, "I did it." The public inauguration ceremony will be held on Monday, but the Constitution states that the president must be sworn in on Jan. 20 and the inauguration ceremony is usually delayed if Jan. 20 falls on a Sunday. Vice President Joe Biden was also sworn in for a second term at his home at just after 8 o’clock this morning. Justice Sonia Sotomayor delivered his oath.
