We all miss the campaign, Mr. President. Obama will remind us of all the glory days of the campaign with a tour of the Midwest this week—although he will be giving policy speeches on his economic agenda, the White House said on Sunday. The president will kick things off at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, where he is expected to unveil a plan to pump more life into the nation’s economy. The White House declined to give any real details, except to say that it expects a fight with Republicans afterward. That does not really sound like a fun summer, but whatever works. After the Knox College speech, Obama will give a series of smaller speeches on several of his key policy concerns, including health care, the cost of higher education, housing, and creating more manufacturing jobs.
