He’s not a New Yorker, but President Obama claims he was one of the first to go Linsane. Obama says he first heard about breakout Knicks player Jeremy Lin from Secretary of Education and former Harvard basketball captain Arne Duncan. As the president told ESPN’s Bill Simmons, he and Duncan were playing some pickup one day “and he [Duncan] said, I’m telling you, we’ve got this terrific guard named Jeremy Lin at Harvard.” The commander in chief was then further tipped off to the fledgling hoops star by a few other Harvard chums. “So I’ve been on the Jeremy Lin bandwagon for a while,” Obama said. The president also told Simmons he watches SportsCenter every morning while working out with the First Lady.
