Writing in the Los Angeles Times, Spike Dolomite Ward says she was recently diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer. An uninsured nonprofit employee, Ward had no idea how she would pay for treatment—until she discovered that she could get insurance coverage through a provision of “Obamacare.” Until recently, she believed that the president had abandoned the middle class. Now her tone has changed: “I’m sorry I didn’t realize that he really has stood up for me and my family, and for so many others like us.”
