Neither former President Barack Obama nor President Donald Trump are on the invite list for Prince Harry’s royal wedding next month, Kensington Palace announced Tuesday. No British or foreign political leaders have been invited to the prince’s wedding to Meghan Markle—Harry is not a direct heir to the throne, so there is no formal guest list, a palace spokesman said. Harry and Markle will tie the knot at St. George’s Chapel on May 19, a much smaller venue than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding at Westminster Abbey seven years ago. A royal biographer told the Daily Mail the 600-person guest list will “avoid upsetting diplomatic ties with the U.S.” as many speculated Barack and Michelle Obama would get an invite to the nuptials and Donald and Melania Trump would not.
