Roughly 50 percent of Americans currently approve of President Obama’s performance as chief executive, marking his highest approval rating since 2013, according to a Gallup poll released Thursday. The survey, which has about a 2 percent margin of error, shows that Obama’s approval rating is up by about five percentage points since the beginning of the year. Compared to other presidents’ final springs in office, Obama beats George W. Bush, who garnered about 32-percent approval in March 2008. Former President Clinton still tops them both, however, as he earned an approval of 63 percent in March 2000.
