Obamas Not Invited to Prince William, Kate Middleton Wedding
Because it's not a "state occasion."
President Obama and First Lady Michelle apparently won’t be invited to Prince William's wedding to Kate Middleton, The Daily Mail reports. Sources say that since Prince William is not yet heir to the throne, his wedding will not be considered a “state occasion” and therefore, political leaders will not be on the guest list. But the report may be too juicy to be true: It would be the first time in history that the U.S. president has not been invited to a royal wedding. France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni are expected to attend.
