Obamas Release Tax Returns

An inside look at the Obamas' bank accounts: President Obama has released his 2010 federal income and gift tax returns, reporting an adjusted gross income of $1,728,000. The Obamas paid $453,770 in total federal taxes. They also donated $245,075 to 36 charities; the largest single donation to charity was $131,075 to the Fisher House Foundation. On their Illinois income tax return, the Obamas said that they paid $51,568 in state income taxes. While the Obamas’ records look squeaky clean, Attorney General Eric Holder is in a bit of trouble: He and his brother failed to pay property taxes on a childhood home in Queens, and they now owe about $4,000.
