Cooper Hoffman, actor and son of the late Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, 23, and Nico Parker, 21, the daughter of Emmy-winning Westworld actress Thandiwe Newton and big-budget director Ol Parker, are officially an item. Hoffman confirmed the development in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
The news comes one year after the pair sparked speculation when they looked particularly cozy at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Hoffman revealed that he met the Last of Us actress on the set of fellow nepo baby Maude Apatow’s directorial debut, Poetic License, in late 2024. “But we didn’t officially start dating until a few weeks after filming, when she came to New York to meet my mom, and I asked her to be my girlfriend,” he told the site. “It was very sweet.” Parker also appears in 2019’s Dumbo and 2025’s How to Train Your Dragon.

The pair were spotted cuddling puppies together at last year’s TIFF. Video from the moment included a moment in which Hoffman can be heard telling Parker, “No, we’re not getting a dog,” prompting immediate questions about their relationship.
Parker has spoken out about her access to the industry because of her famous parents. Her mom last appeared in the 2025 action film Anaconda and in Season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday. Ol Parker released Office Romance, his romantic comedy film starring Jennifer Lopez and Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein, in June.
“I think it’s incredibly important to recognize that with your parents being prevalent in the industry, it’s way easier to get in the room,” Parker told The Cut in 2023.

“It’s so important to know how many people would dream of being in that room, and how lucky you are to be there,” she went on. “Especially when you start, your parents know people, and you’ve known people since you were small, and they want to give you a chance because they like you. That is a reflection of your parents.” Parker will reprise her role as Astrid Hofferson in How to Train Your Dragon 2, and appear alongside Hoffman in Poetic License.
Hoffman, whose late father died in 2014 at the age of 46, didn’t begin acting until after his death. “As much as I would love him to be here and talk to him about acting, I also would be terrified to have him see my stuff and judge my stuff,” he told GQ last year.

He’s also weighed in on the nepo baby discourse, revealing in April that he and his friend Michael Gandolfini, the son of late actor James Gandolfini, joke, “‘We gotta get rid of those nepo babies,’” but they don’t count since, “If one of your parents is dead, it’s fine.”
Hoffman earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role in Licorice Pizza and starred in the SNL film Saturday Night in 2024. This year, he stars alongside Olivia Wilde in I Want Your Sex and will portray OpenAI president Greg Brockman in an upcoming Sam Altman biopic.
