Dramatic footage has captured the aftermath of a fiery collision involving Bob’s Burgers voice actor Eugene Mirman, whose electric vehicle slammed into a booth in Bedford, New Hampshire, on Tuesday.
Video of the incident obtained by local outlet WCAX shows intense flames consuming the wreckage, with car debris scattered across the roadway as firefighters battled the inferno.
Mirman, 51, who voices Gene Belcher on the popular animated series, was rescued through a window by Governor Kelly Ayotte’s security team, who arrived at the scene by chance. A trooper assigned to the governor, along with two bystanders, extracted Mirman from the burning car.

“Without hesitation, they put themselves in danger to render aid to someone who was in need of it,” State Police Col. Mark Hall said.
Ayotte herself grabbed a fire extinguisher to assist at the scene. Mirman was transported to a local hospital suffering serious injuries.
His agent, Jay Glassner, confirmed: “Eugene was in a very scary car accident.”
Mirman has since posted an update to his Instagram account, confirming he is now out of the hospital and recovering, and expressing thanks to fans for their support.

“Thank you so much for all the well wishes, love and kind messages from friends and strangers,” the comedian wrote. “I am extraordinarily thankful to the heroic people that pulled me from the car and to the warm, kind and talented staff at the hospital that cared for me and got me on the mend! I am thankful beyond words to be here and doing relatively alright, all things considered.”
After noting that he hasn’t had access to his phone, Mirman joked, “If you’re a friend who sent a kind, loving message, you should know that it was hard to not respond with, ‘I’d love to be on your podcast.’”
Mirman previously lost his wife, set decorator Katie Westfall Tharp, to breast cancer just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking to the Daily Beast in 2020, he said, “It’s so strange going through this without her. But all you can do is go on to the best of your ability at any given moment, so I guess that’s what I’m trying to do.”
The pair shared one son, who was born in 2016. In 2023, Mirman married actress Therese Plaehn-Mirman at a ceremony in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
