Pete Davidson gifted his friend and former Saturday Night Live castmate Colin Jost a $20,000 Cartier watch as a peace offering after the two had an unexplained falling out last year.

Jost, 42, and Davidson, 31, had been friends for about 10 years and even bought a decommissioned Staten Island ferry together in 2022 with the goal of turning it into an entertainment space.

But Jost ended their friendship after a mysterious falling out, and last year the two weren’t even on speaking terms, The Sun reported. Things got so bad that Jost wouldn’t even be in 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the iconic building where SNL films, if Davidson was there.

It wasn’t clear how the falling out affected their joint business venture.

Last July, Davidson—who has long been open about his mental health problems and struggles with addiction—checked into rehab after displaying erratic behavior. Soon after leaving rehab, he gifted Jost the watch in an attempt to heal the rift, The Sun reported Wednesday.

The actor and comedian was a cast member on SNL from 2014 to 2022 and was later invited back to host. Jost has been a staff writer for the show since 2005 and has co-anchored the Weekend Update segment since 2014.

Both attended SNL’s 50th anniversary event on Feb. 16, and though Davidson was seen chatting with his ex Kim Kardashian, he and Jost weren’t photographed together.
