O'Donnell Loses in Delaware

Christine O'Donnell suffered an early loss for the Tea Party, but her ideological colleagues Nikki Haley and Marco Rubio were victorious. Delaware Republican O’Donnell— the most-covered candidate of the 2010 election—went down to Democrat Chris Coons in the Delaware Senate race. It wasn’t even close, with networks calling the election immediately upon the closing of the polls. In South Carolina, Haley won the election for governor, defeating Democrat Vincent Sheheen. Haley survived rumors of extramarital affairs and associations with a former Abramoff lobbyist to take the election. No surprises here: In Florida, Republican Rubio has defeated independent Charlie Crist and Democrat Kendrick Meek in the race for Florida’s open Senate seat. Mama Grizzly Kelly Ayotte also won in New Hampshire.
