A Prairie View, Texas police officer who witnessed Sandra Bland's arrest was allegedly blocked from testifying with information favorable to Bland. In a Tuesday press conference in Houston, activist DeWayne Charleston presented a recorded phone call in which Prairie View police officer Michael Kelley says he had information relevant to Bland's death in jail, but was not allowed to present this new information in a testimony. In the call, Kelley reportedly told Charleston that Bland's arresting officer had taken her to jail without charges, and invented charges later at the jail. "I wanted to testify on Sandra Bland's behalf and they told me if I said anything they're going to come after me," Kelley said in Charleston's recording.
