The officer who shot and killed an unarmed teenager on Saturday in Ferguson, Missouri, was injured during the altercation, police reported Wednesday. According to Ferguson Chief of Police Tom Jackson, the officer, who has still not been identified, “was hit” and the “side of his face was swollen.” The chief didn’t disclose whether any bones were broken. According to the police, 18-year-old Michael Brown was walking with a friend when the officer tried to get out of his car. Brown then allegedly pushed the officer back into the car, went into the car, and then a fight broke out over the policeman’s weapon. The shot was fired inside the car, the police say. An eyewitness who was walking with Brown sharply disagrees with that version of events, saying the cop hunted Brown down.
