Police on Monday shot and killed an 18-year-old charged with the Saturday slaying of an Atlanta-area officer, according to a report from the Associated Press. Gwinnett County Police Chief Butch Ayers told the Associated Press that Tafahree Maynard, who faced aggravated assault and felony murder charges for his role in the death of Officer Antwan Toney, was fatally shot after a two-day search when officers discovered him in a shed behind a home. Authorities claim that Maynard shot Toney while the officer was responding to a report of a suspicious car parked near a school on Saturday afternoon. Isaiah Pretlow, a 19-year-old who was with Maynard at the time of the shooting, was also charged with aggravated assault for allegedly pointing a gun at another officer after Toney’s death, and was taken into custody Saturday night.
