An Ohio priest faces eight counts of sexual battery after he admitted to having a relationship with a 17-year-old girl who is now pregnant, local news station WBNS reports. According to the Athens County prosecutor, Father Christopher Foxhoven is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with the girl between August 17 and October 25, 2018. The prosecutor said she was an altar girl at one of his two parishes, and that their relationship lasted three years. Both Foxhoven and the teen reportedly told the girl’s parents that she was pregnant. The Diocese of Steubenville said it shared the allegations with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office when it became aware of them on Oct. 27. Foxhoven was then reportedly suspended from “practicing all religious services” and was barred from church property. During a search conducted at Foxhoven’s residence Monday, authorities said they found “several used condoms and a used pregnancy test with a positive indication.” Foxhoven was charged and held on a $1 million bond at a court hearing Tuesday. He is set to appear at another hearing on Nov. 26.
