U.S. Olympic ski champion Bode Miller’s 19-month-old daughter has died after drowning in a Southern California swimming pool, police said Monday. Authorities in Orange County say Emeline Miller passed away in a hospital Sunday after paramedics were called to a home in the Coto de Caza community on Saturday evening. Paramedics were reportedly unable to resuscitate the little girl. “We are beyond devastated,” Miller wrote on Instagram. “Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this,” he said. The death is under investigation, according to a spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office cited by the Associated Press. Miller, who has a slew of skiing accolades under his belt, including six Olympic medals and 33 World Cup wins, has asked for privacy for his family.
