Omar Mateen’s Dad: ‘Only God Can Punish Homosexuality’
Yet expressed sadness at massacre.
Facebook
Seddique Mir Mateen, the father of the terrorist who killed 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, said “only God can punish homosexuality” in a video he posted online after the massacre. “This is not an issue humans should punish,” he continued. Omar Mateen’s father on Sunday said his son was disgusted by seeing two men kiss recently, and coworkers described him as homophobic. (A drag queen former coworker told The Daily Beast, however, Mateen was kind to him.) Mateen’s ex-wife said he beat her regularly during their brief marriage.
