Omarosa Taped Nearly Every White House Conversation on Her Phone: Report
Omarosa Manigault-Newman recorded almost every conversation she was part of, including conversations with “all of the Trumps” while she was a White House aide, a source told Axios. The source, who reportedly watched Manigault-Newman make the tapes, said the recordings were done on her personal phone. In order to do this, Manigault-Newman would press record on the phone before going into meetings or put calls from her government phone on speaker so she could record them, according to Axios. A source said she would refer to the tapes later, but also wanted to “cover her own butt.” Chief of Staff John Kelly in January banned personal phones from the West Wing between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays.
